We start the installation process by meeting at your home to discuss your needs and expectations. Once we’ve decided what the best containment setup for your pet is, a wire is then buried in the ground to define the containment area. Next, we install a transmitter equipped with SafeLink FM Radio Technology in a suitable location (such as the garage or basement) and connect it to the buried wire.
DogWatch offers comprehensive lightning protection, both external and internal, to ensure maximum safety for your fence and home wiring system. Unlike other hidden dog fence brands, DogWatch provides dual lightning protection. The perimeter wire can be fully customized to meet your specific preferences and requirements. Below are a few examples of different installation configurations for our outdoor hidden fences.
This is the most conventional method for designing and laying out a hidden fence. The wire is installed along the entire property boundary to provide maximum yard space for your pet. Despite being one continuous loop, you still have the flexibility to include optional loops for garden, pool, or flower bed areas within the hidden fence boundary, allowing you to exclude specific areas as desired.
Installing the fence wire on both sides of your property against the house creates two hidden fence zones: front yard and back yard. This configuration "pinches" your yard, giving you effective control over your pet's access to the front yard or back yard.
An alternative layout option is to limit your pet's access to the backyard of your property. By installing the hidden fence wire near the front side of the house, you can create a loop that prevents your pet from escaping through the front door or garage. Alternatively, this configuration can also be used to restrict access to the front yard only.
This installation option establishes a concealed fence boundary along one, two, or three sides of your property. It is most suitable when traditional above-ground fencing already exists as a "partial" yard boundary. The benefit of this layout is that it safeguards the front yard while maximizing the available yard space within the enclosed backyard.
If these sample configurations don't align with your preferences for your pet(s) or aren't suitable for your specific yard, please reach out to us directly. We're here to discuss your unique requirements and can schedule a visit to consult with you on the most suitable installation and product(s) for you and your pet.
